Happy New Year!

I returned to the Frost Place’s Poetry Seminar in August 2025, and it was magical!

In June, I was awarded a grant to develop listening, engagement across difference (or cross-cultural communication), teamwork, and empathy, all of them workplace skills, in my undergraduate STEM course! During the summer, I developed practices to develop those skills and instruments to test them. In the process, I read a lot of research. I’m excited about the changes I’ve made to my fall course!

In May 2025, the spring semester ended and I said goodbye to the Office of Water Programs, where I’d worked as Senior Technical Editor both full-time and part-time since January 2022. While I’m sad to leave the people I really liked, I am happy to be editing at home.

Also in May, I participated at the Achieving STEM Persistence through Peer Assisted Learning and Leadership Development workshop at Sacramento State. I love all the opportunities for professional development Sac State offers!

I’m also delighted to share that my poem, “What the Story of Taliesin Leaves Out,” was published in Mom Egg Review, vol. 23, 2025. The editors divided the issue into each of the four elements. I was pleased to see my poem in the Fire category! It’s a beautiful issue.

Be well!
